DIRECTOR STATEMENT
This story is personal to me as I reflect on my two gay brothers, one of whom passed away from AIDS at the age of 38. Despite progress, LGBTQ individuals still face challenges with self acceptance and societal acceptance. My aim was to convey tenderness and empathy for each of these character’s journeys, shedding light on the difficulties they may have have faced. I also wanted to humanize a woman who works as a prostitute, exploring her complexities beyond her profession. My goal is for the viewer to appreciate their own relationships and show empathy for others, fostering a more compassionate society.
